Making effective decisions

From the title one might think this post might be something like those self help books everywhere. it is not!
It is mostly about how making effective decisions are really tough even after all the advise people in your life give you. Frankly, i feel even with experience you can never get a decision right.. Why i feel so? Because your mind is biased - between what u think is right and what will make u look right to the society. Even people who call themselves frank and upright cant deny this fact.

What does one call an effective decision? Something that one thinks is right or something that is better than the one which is right for oneself but right for the society. Very confusing na? yeah it totally is. That apart there is also another controversial question to be answered before we get to the term effective how can we classify something as right? perspectives differ and so does right and wrong. All these things combined together making a decision itself seems to be a strenuous task and making it effective seems to be unattainable.

What are the things you would consider before deciding something?
1. Will that benefit you
2. Any hindrances that could cause the decision to backfire on you
3. Where will that decision lead you to

These are the ones that come into my mind. Firstly, anyone would look into a selfish benefit before they decide upon anything. So coming out of a comfort zone and doing something which might be an effective option wont be on the top 10. People should be willing enough, more daring, open to taking risks. All these options seem so far fetched but when u actually think upon it , might lead to something if not awesome may be different out of the monotony, and possibly good. Well i m saying we should take risks and make effective decisions but we must also make sure we arent jumping into the well without a rope.

So give it a thought.
Make an effective decision. Try to maybe. Give it a shot.
If it s not so effective you can always revert back and take the easy way out.
We do have the rope(jumping in the well part:P)

P.S:All this started because i came across a training session for one hour for effective decison making! LOL.
